about

Sanctuary, the debut album of Brisbane-based artist Job is a progressive, funk-rock infused album with roots buried firmly in classic rock tradition. Having been exposed early on to such guitar giants as Mark Knopfler and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Job as crafted a tastefully layered hard rock sound, without overwhelming the listener.

From the blistering guitar solos of ‘Lace’ and ‘Purgatory’, to the glistening synthesizers of ‘Rosary’ and ‘Stay’, the album combines elements of new wave and hard rock in a unique and energetic, without sounding fragmented or lacking cohesion.

Self-produced, but recorded in as studio, Sanctuary is a meditation on Job’s religious upbringing, and the destructive, but vital nature of vanity. The musicianship is stellar, and the songs explore the pain and joy of new, and old beginnings.
